Mystery of three dolls
Once upon a time there was a king, who was searching for a wise prime minister for his state. In order to find the right guy for the job he created three dolls and announced in the state that who so ever will be able to pick the best doll out of the three dolls, will be appointed as the prime minister of the state. He met all the wise men of the state one by one but none of them were able to pick the best one because all the three dolls looked absolutely same to them.
At last, one fine day a villager came to see the king and requested to have a look at the dolls. The dolls were shown to the man. After having a good look at the dolls, the man asked for a straw. After having the straw he put it into the left ear of one of the dolls. The straw came out through the right ear. He explained, “Many people are like this. What ever they hear through one ear goes out through the other. They do not pay attention to what ever is being said”. Then he put the straw into the ear of the second doll. The straw came out through its mouth. To this he explained “Many people are like this doll. They cannot keep secrets. What ever they hear goes out through the mouth”.
When he put the straw through the ear of the third doll, the straw remained inside. He smiled and said -“Only a few people are like this doll. They listen attentively and keep all the secrets to themselves. So this is the best doll.
King happily remarked - ” You are very wise and suitable for the role of prime minister. You must stay here and help me rule the state.” The villager was appointed the Prime minister of the state and he served the king faithfully for the rest of his life.
