The Greed!

Once four friends decided to go out of their town to earn lot of money. But they had no idea how to accomplish their mission, yet they were hopeful and were moving ahead. To their surprise they saw the body of a man lying on the road side and near by it was a bag with its mouth open. When they checked they found that the man was dead and the bag was full of gold ornaments. Their being no one around they decoded to take the bag full of ornaments and they ran away towards the big city along with the bag. They wanted to sell the ornaments and return home with lot of money. They had decided that they will equally divide the money. Big city was quite far away they walked and walked for long. They became hungry and tired. They sat down at one place and decided that two of them will guard the ornaments and other two will go and arrange some food items.

Now the daemon played its own game. The two friends who went out for collecting food, thought that how good it will be if they get the entire money and divide between themselves. So they planned to poison the food in order to kill the other two.

The other two friends who were guarding the ornaments also thought the same way and decided to kill their two friends as soon as they return with the food. The greed had so much over powered them that friendship became immaterial. So when the two friends returned with the poisoned food, the guarding ones immediately over powered them and killed them. They had now become more rich and celebrated their victory by eating the food items the other two friends had brought for them. Since the food was poisoned they too died. Now their were four dead bodies with a bag of ornaments.

After some time a wise man passed that way. He saw the dead bodies and also the ornaments. It did not take him long to understand the whole story. He scornfully looked at the ornaments and moved away.
