The Farmer's Will
A farmer had four sons. Unfortunately, all of them were very lazy. The farmer had sufficient land in which he used to grow crops and was having a good income. He was somehow managing the expenses of his house. But he was worried how his sons would manage the expenses of the household after his death,. Several years passed but there was no change in the attitude of his sons.
The farmer had grown old now. He was finding difficulty in working in the fields. He was not able to look after the land single handedly. As a result the land was getting dry. He discussed his problem with one of his close friend and his friend suggested him something. One day the farmer died.
After the farmer’s death, his sons opened his box with a hope that perhaps their father had left some money for them. But they got nothing. However, they found a Will in which it was written that he has hidden all his money in his fields.
The farmer’s sons were badly in need of money. The Will gave them a hope and they took their spades and rushed towards the fields. They dug the fields at several places but got nothing. Gradually they dug the entire field but still got nothing.
In the meantime the farmer’s friend came there and saw their plight. They also narrated their pitiable condition after the death of the farmer. The farmer’s friend suggested: You have already dug the fields, now I will give you some seeds, you better grow them. Since they had no alternative, so they followed the advice and grew the seeds. Later as per the advice of the farmer’s friend, they irrigated the land as well. In a few months the crop was ready to reap. Under the guidance of farmer’s friend, they then reaped the crop and sold it in the market. They earned a good amount.
Seeing the money in hand, now they realised the real meaning of the farmer’s Will.
