Man and the Lion!
Once a man tactfully caged a lion in the forest. He only wanted to trap the lion, so he left the cage there only. Another kindhearted man passed that way and saw the cage and the lion in it. Seeing the lion in such a pitiable condition, the man went near the cage. The lion requested him with folded hands, ‘Please relieve me of this cage.’ He took pity on him and opened the door of the cage. The lion came out. He straightened himself, took a long breath and then turning towards the man said gentleman, I am sorry but I must eat you. The man was shocked. He had helped the lion and in return the lion threatened to eat him. He questioned him, Why? have I not helped you? It is not fare that you hurt your own benefactor.’ The lion was adamant. He said, ‘I had taken a vow in the cage that I must punish the man for making me prisoner. You are a man and I cannot spare you.
Suddenly a fox appeared there. The man immediately said to the fox, ‘Dear friend look at this ungrateful lion. I have relieved him from the cage and he now threatens to eat me.’ ‘What! The king of the jungle in the cage! It can’t be.’ exclaimed the fox. The lion also nodded his head and said yes, he is correct. I was in the cage and I had taken a vow to kill the man I come across.’ The fox said, no, no I can’t believe it. It can’t be.’ The lion again said, ‘Yes it was.’ Okay, then show me exactly how it was! Where were you in the cage? How the man released you.’ Said the fox. The lion immediately went near the cage and entered in it and said, ‘This is how I was !’ The fox then asked the man, ‘Tell me how the door of the cage was locked.’ He closed the door and latched it.
The fox then asked the man, your problem has been solved. If you care for your life, better run away from here at once. The lion cannot harm you any more.
