Betaal Pachisi - Story 10 - The Prince and three sensitive sisters

Vikrama tries again to catch vetala. After several attempts he succeeds and starts taking him to the ascetic. Vetala starts narrating him a story so that they can easily complete the long journey once again but warns him not to speak anything else he will go back to his place again. He begins narrating story about Prince Dharamdutt and three sensitive sisters - Indu, Tara and Madangwati. Prince’s friend one day visits farms to buy grocery for kingdom. There he sees three daughters of the businessman. He is surprised to see that they are so sensitive that they can’t pick up the keys. He buys the groceries and goes back to the kingdom.

When he reaches kingdom, he realizes that the quality of grocery is not good. Prince asks him the reason for the same. He feels sorry for the same and tells that he was so surprised to see the sensitive daughters of businessman that he could not focus on anything. Prince is also surprised by the same and decides that he will visit the businessman to see all the daughters.

Prince reaches there and scolds businessman. Businessman promises to provide replacement of the same and asks prince to rest in the room in the meantime. Businessman asks his daughters to take care of the prince. Indu goes to prince and asks him if he needs anything. Prince is really impressed by her beauty and tells her that she is very beautiful by striking rose on her cheeks. Indu starts crying due to pain. Sisters come to see her and scold prince for hitting Indu with rose as it has created a mark on her face.

At night, Tara comes to see the prince. Prince asks her to accompany him for a walk outside on this full moon night. Tara does not agree and they just see the moon from the window. After some time she feels rashes on her body. King is surprised to see that she is so sensitive that she can’t bear the light of the moon. In the meantime businessman informs prince that grocery is ready and he can grind the spices in the kingdom. Prince directs them to grind the same here and he will stay back for some more time. In the meantime, third sister Madangwati comes and asks prince if he was comfortable. Prince says yes and starts laughing. Laborers start grinding the spices but she is unable to bear the noise and faints. Prince says that really all the three sisters are very sensitive. When he is about to leave he asks businessman that he wants to marry one of his sensitive daughter. Vetala asks Vikrama to tell that which girl has been selected by the prince? Vikrama replies that the emotional sensitivity is more important than physical sensitivity. So, he will marry Madangwati. Vetala gets happy with Vikrama’s answer but he again flies back to his abode telling that he could not keep quite. Vikrama runs behind him again to catch him.
