✦ A story about Kindness

The Bald Headed

A shopkeeper had a parrot who used to speak and chat with the people. He also used to look after the shop and talk to the customers as well. One day the shopkeeper had gone somewhere. The parrot was looking after the shop. Per chance a cat entered the shop and jumped at a rat. The parrot hurriedly flew in the shop to save his life. In the process, the parrot collided with the bottles of almond oil and the bottles fell down. There was oil flowing on the floor. When the shopkeeper returned, he got so annoyed with the parrot that he hit him with a stick so hard that the parrot became bald. From that day onwards he stopped chattering. The shopkeeper was sorry for his sudden outburst and hoped that the parrot will soon be normal as before.

After several days, a Mahatma came to their shop. The Mahatma’s head was shaven and smooth. Seeing his baldness, the parrot at-once shouted, ‘It seems you too have fallen the bottles of almond oil that is why you are bald like me.’ Hearing him thus everyone laughed at the parrot and wondered at his opinion of the Mahatma.

People often commit such mistakes and thus fail to recognize the Lovers of the Lord. In urdu language ‘Sher’ and ‘Sheer’ are written almost alike. But we know that their meanings are entirely different.
